Traverse Day Robinette was born in Torrance, California in 1982. His family quickly became nomads and began their wandering through the South West. His family made stops in Texas, Arizona and California. Most of Traverse's childhood was spent playing in dry ditches in the countryside of Texas awaiting rain to bring out crawdads which captivated him for hours. Little did the crustaceans know he daydreamed of becoming a fish.
In later years Traverse found himself on the East Coast discovering seasons and the labyrinths of woods who quickly became his friends. He received his BFA in Photography from the Massachusetts College of Art in 2009.
